Kara Hedstrom
Program Administrative Coordinator
Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, Kara is passionate about people, purpose-driven work, and creating a positive impact in her community. She graduated in December 2023 from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Business. With a heart for nonprofit work, Kara felt a strong calling to serve others—and toward the end of her college journey, she knew this was exactly the path she wanted to take.
After moving to Wichita, a mutual connection introduced her to HopeNet and the life-changing work being done here. She joined the team in April 2024 and hasn’t looked back!
Kara married her husband, Mark—a Wichita native—in January 2024, and they share their home with Sam, their beloved Black Lab. In her free time, Kara enjoys going on walks, gardening, cooking and baking, and spending time outdoors.
What Kara loves most about HopeNet is its real, tangible impact:
“My favorite part of HopeNet is the visible difference we are making in people’s lives and across Wichita, while also getting to share the love of Jesus to those in the community!”
Her enthusiasm, servant heart, and joyful spirit make her a cherished part of the HopeNet team.
