Stephanie Weishaar , LPC

Mental Health Therapist

Stephanie is a devoted mom of three amazing children and has been married to her husband for 22 years—they met while attending Wichita State University, where Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She worked in the mental health field for eight years before stepping away to focus on raising her children, which she describes as the best part of her life.

Eventually, Stephanie returned to the field she loved, starting as a counseling intern at HopeNet while pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Emporia State University. After completing her degree, she knew she wanted to stay.

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys running, reading, gardening, watching movies with her family, and spending time at the pool. Her favorite foods are anything Mexican or Mediterranean.

Stephanie is passionate about HopeNet’s mission:

“We have such amazing donors and community support! Therefore, we serve those who cannot afford quality mental health care!”

What especially resonates with her is how the work is grounded in faith:

“I love that we do everything with the awareness that Jesus is our hope, and we can hold that same hope out to everyone who comes to us!”

Stephanie’s personal journey gives her a deep compassion for her clients. As a teen coming out of drug addiction and beginning a new life in Christ, her relationship with a drug and alcohol counselor was life-changing:

“She never gave up on me. Her commitment to me, even in my addiction, was unwavering. She was the first person who told me she had been praying for me.”

That experience continues to inspire Stephanie’s work as a therapist—meeting people where they are with grace, hope, and unshakable support.
